27th Annual Webster Fall Festival
Y'all come rain or shine to the 27th Annual Webster Fall Festival to be held Saturday, September 27th, 2008. The Festival is Co-sponsored by Webster United Church of Christ and the Webster Township Historical Society. The Fall Festival is held on the spacious grounds shared by its sponsoring organizations. The Festival is located at the intersection of Webster Church Road and Farrell Road (Directions below). General admission and parking are free.
Step back in time from today's hectic life style, to enjoy a variety of fun and interesting activities, displays, food and entertainment that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Michigan's Webster Township. The fun is suitable for individuals and families of all ages and starts at 10 a.m.and runs through 7 p.m.
The Festival features a number of beautiful and interesting historic buildings and exhibits which help tell the story of the agricultural settlement of this area from the early days of the 19th century. Tour and admire historic Webster Church, originally built in 1834 and is the oldest continuously occupied church structure in Washtenaw County (Listed Michigan Historic Site). A historical perspective of textiles will be featured in the church's sanctuary.
Go back to the days of Abe Lincoln and experience the restored One-Room Podunk School House complete with schoolmarm and dunce cap. See how far our educational system has come since the “good-old-days”.
Inside the historic Blacksmith Shop, a Blacksmith will feature ongoing workshops of traditional handmade metal working techniques. Outside, try your hand at spinning yarn and sample techniques used by the early settlers to color their yarn in which they used to make their clothing and fabrics.
A Taste of Webster will once again return, where a large variety of homemade cookies, cakes, pies, jellies, jams, honey, maple syrup and hot beverages including other unique food and craft items which will be available for purchase.
The original Webster Community House will hold a fair of local artisans. Artwork and Craft items for sale include a variety of handmade items that are great for holiday gift giving and those decorating touches in your own home. Additionally the original Webster Township Hall has been beautifully preserved and will hold additional craft items.
Washtenaw County's best Rummage and Antique Sale will be in the Scadin Barn and features a cornucopia of items that will be of interest to browsers looking for those antique and reusable items. Important Note: Due to the irrepressible nature of sale seekers the rummage/antique sale opens at 8 a.m.. New in 2008, at 10am will feature an Auction for those highly prized possessions. Come and experience the rush for your unique collectible items for yourself.
An extensive display of Antique Tractors, Farm Machinery, and Vintage Automobiles will grace the grounds and provide another glimpse into our past. The Kleinschmidt General Store will feature one of a kind, hand made models representing early 1900's country living. There will also be other unique items available to view and buy at the General Store.
Ghana Garage is where the sale of gently used, professional clothes are used as a fund raiser to support educational scholarships for needy but qualified children in Ghana Africa.

For the Children there will be numerous actives including a Children's Game and Crafts Tent (until 3pm). Pony Rides, Children's Zoo, and Hayrides will be available until 5 pm. Take the whole family on an old fashioned hay ride through the wooded back acres of the Scadin Farm.
Free Entertainment all day long will feature many local artists and groups.
A Traditional Luncheon (11am-2pm) will be held in the Church's Fellowship Hall and features a variety of foods such as homemade Soups, Sloppy Joes, and mouth watering Pies. The Famous Hot Dog Stand is back due to overwhelming popularity and will be available all day.
Webster's Famous Pig Roast will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
The annual Webster Pig Roast under the Big Top Tent completes the day. The traditional homemade German dinner features Roast Pork, Potato Salad, Sauerkraut, Applesauce, Carrots, Roll, Dessert and Beverage. $9 for adults, $5 for children.

From Route US-23 -exit west on North Territorial Road (Exit 49), go west for aprox 3.5 miles to Webster Church Rd. (flashing yellow light), turn left (south) and go one-mile to the Fall Festival. (5484 Webster Church Road, Dexter MI, 48130)
From I-94 – exit Zeeb Road north (Exit 169). Follow Zeeb Road approximately 3 miles north (over and past the Huron River). Turn right (east) onto Joy Road and proceed 1 mile east until the blacktop ends. Turn left onto Webster church Road and proceed 1.2 miles north to the Webster Fall Festival.
